Google Pixel 7
The Google Pixel 7 series is releasing for sale on October 6. The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro are the two smartphones in the series. The company has released another teaser video for the top-tier Pixel 7 Pro phone, just days before its release.
The official Made By Google Twitter account shared a teaser video of the phone with the caption ‘Sleek, smooth, and sophisticated.’
The video depicts the phone’s rear camera module’s chiselled redesign. It appears to be made of metal rather than the metal and glass used on the Pixel 6 Pro. The teaser video also reveals the Pixel 7 Pro’s colour options: Obsidian, Snow, and Hazel.
Series is expected to cost the same as last year’s Pixel 6 series. According to Android Police founder Artem Russakovskii, the Google Pixel 7 could cost $599 (approx. 48,000) and the Pixel 7 Pro could cost $899 (approx. 73,000). This is the same price as the Pixel 6 series from last year.
Both handsets are expected to be powered by the company’s own Tensor G2 next-generation processor. The new chipset is expected to introduce new personalised features for photos, videos, security, and speech recognition. The devices will come pre-installed with Android 13.
Meanwhile, Google plans to bring back its premium Pixel phones to India after a three-year hiatus. Google confirmed the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro are ‘coming soon to India’ in a post on the microblogging site Twitter.
For those who are unfamiliar, the Google Pixel 3 series was the last in which the company sold all three models – Pixel 3, Pixel 3XL, and Pixel 3a.
Since then, Google has only released the most affordable Pixel phones (Google Pixel 4a, 5a and 6a).
The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will be available in India through e-commerce platform Flipkart. They will most likely be revealed in the company at the same time as the series’ global release.
