Google’s First Smartwatch: Pixel Officially Launches


Google introduced its first smartwatch at the IO Event in May. After a long wait, the watch comes with multiple features that will leave its users impressed.

Although the launch date for this watch in India has not been announced, its specs and looks have left everyone quite intrigued.


Google Pixel has an AMOLED display with 3D Corning Gorilla glass. It is powered by Exynos 9110 SoC and comes with a 2GB SDRAM. Its connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and NFC support. This watch only works with Android 8.0 or more and isn’t compatible with iOS devices.

The smartwatch comes with multiple top-notch features, including 32GB storage and a 294 mAh battery that charges within 80 minutes. Promising top speed and performance, this watch is one to look out for.


It comes with a built-in speaker and microphone for powerful sound. The watch includes multiple features, including fitness and FitBit, Wallet, Google Maps, ECG capability, international emergency calling, and SOS. You can even take this watch for a swim because of the 5ATM water rating. Although this watch is not waterproof, it will stay safe during rains and showers.

There are multiple sensors in this watch, including optical heart rate, altimeter, compass, blood oxygen, gyroscope, accelerometer, and ambient light sensor.

Colour Options

This Google Pixel Watch is available in three colour options – polished silver, matt black, and champagne gold. It has a circular design and is made from recycled stainless steel. You can pick the watch band in hazel, chalk, obsidian, and charcoal colours.
