Jio’s next smartphone could support 5G and be known as the “JioPhone True 5G.” Read on to learn more.
Jio launched its first smartphone, the JioPhone 5G Next, earlier this year.
Now, the company is said to be working on another device, which is expected to support 5G networks and could be one of the most affordable 5G phones in India. A new leak from developer Kuba Wojciechowski via 91Mobiles gives us our first look at what to expect from the Jio Phone 5G, dubbed the ‘JioPhone True 5G.’
According to the leaks, the phone will have a Snapdragon 480 processor, 4GB of RAM, and dual cameras.
The phone will also be codenamed ‘ganga’ and will have the model number LS1654QB5. The leaks come from the device’s firmware, which indicates that the phone will have 4GB LPDDR4X RAM, 32GB storage on the base model, and a ‘holi’ chipset, which is the codename for the Snapdragon 480.
We also learn that the phone will have a 6.5-inch 720p display panel with 1600720 resolution rather than a Full-HD one. This will be an LCD display panel as well.
The phone will also have a dual camera setup on the back,13MP main camera with a and a 2MP Omnivision macro camera.
Other rumoured specifications include an 8MP front-facing camera, a 5000mAh battery, and support for 18W fast charging via a USB Type-C port. Finally, the phone is expected to ship with Android 12. We anticipate a stock-like user interface with pre-installed Google and Jio apps.
Please keep in mind that the above information is based on leaks, and Jio has yet to confirm the existence of Jio Phone 5G specifications.
More concrete details on the phone will have to wait a little longer, but with 5G rollouts expected to begin in October, a launch for the phone may not be too far away.
